About Anu
I have twelve years of experience teaching Math to students of all levels. Maths becomes an exciting and meaningful subject when students understand how different concepts connect and apply to real-world problems. In my lessons, I blend topics from elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math, creating a rich and varied learning experience. I begin by reinforcing foundational skills such as number sense, arithmetic operations, fractions, ratios, and basic reasoning, helping learners feel confident and prepared to tackle more challenging material. Through step-by-step explanations and guided practice, students gain both understanding and self-assurance.
As students advance, we explore algebraic expressions, solving multi-step equations, geometry applications, word problems, and SAT-focused problem-solving strategies. I focus on helping students see the connections between topics, encouraging critical thinking and flexible problem-solving. Lessons incorporate visual models, practical examples, and analytical exercises to strengthen reasoning and comprehension. Students develop strategies for breaking down complex problems and applying multiple mathematical techniques simultaneously.
Advanced lessons integrate multi-step, real-world problems and test-preparation exercises. Learners practice applying knowledge from algebra, geometry, and arithmetic in combination, develop analytical strategies, and build resilience in problem-solving. My goal is to provide a structured, supportive environment that fosters mastery, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for mathematics.
