About Jessica

Hello! My name is Jess (she/her) and I am currently studying Maths at the University of York as the complexity of the subject has always fascinated me, and my passion for the subject is always evident in my teaching. I have recently completed a 3 week teaching internship and,combined with over 2 years of tutoring experience, I feel confident in teaching and ensuring my student achieves the grades they want.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring Maths for over two years now, ranging from Primary School to A-level. My tutoring lessons would be 45-60 minutes typically, but I am happy to adapt the time so it suits who I am tutoring best.

My lessons are flexible and run however works best for who I am teaching- whether that's repetitive questions, getting the student to teach if back to me, or using more visual techniques. It is very important to me that anyone I tutor feels like it's a safe space for them to ask questions and get answers wrong without feeling embarrassed or bad about themselves, as I am aware sometimes their classroom environment doesn't reflect this. I always strive to achieve this safe environment and encourage questions and mistakes as Maths is best learnt through errors.
