About Noah

Hi, I’m Noah I’m an Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance graduate with experience working as a data scientist and risk modeler in large financial institutions, as well as a long-standing tutor across high school and university levels. What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students succeed, especially when they solve problems they initially thought were beyond them. Helping someone build confidence and realize they can understand complex material is what motivates me to teach. I strongly believe that learning is most effective when concepts are connected to real-world applications. Wherever possible, I show students how maths, statistics, coding, and finance are actually used in practice, which makes the material more meaningful and easier to remember. I also aim to make lessons interesting and engaging, rather than dry or purely theoretical. Every student learns differently, so I enjoy tailoring my teaching approach to the individual — adjusting the pace, explanations, and examples to suit their goals and learning style. Whether you’re working towards exams, struggling with a particular topic, or looking to deepen your understanding, my goal is to help you feel confident, capable, and supported in your learning.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is structured, patient, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on building strong fundamentals first, then gradually increasing difficulty so students gain both confidence and independence. I believe the best learning happens when students truly understand why something works, not just how to memorize formulas. Whether it’s maths, statistics, coding, or finance, I aim to make complex ideas clear, intuitive, practical and show real world applications. Qualifications & tutoring experience: I am an Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance graduate with professional experience as a Data Scientist and Senior Risk Modeler at multiple Big 4 banks, working across financial crime and fraud detection, credit risk modeling, and taxation. In addition to industry experience, I have strong teaching credentials: University pass leader, teaching and supporting a class of 50+ undergraduate finance students Tutoring experience since 2019, covering: - High school mathematics - University-level mathematics and statistics - Probability, statistics, and quantitative finance subjects This combination of academic teaching and real-world application allows me to explain concepts clearly and at the right depth for each student. My lessons are suitable for: - High school students (Years 7–12), including exam and assessment preparation - University students, especially in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance and quantitative subjects, coding (Python, SQL, ML/AI and VBA) - Students who feel behind and want to rebuild confidence - High-performing students aiming to improve results or deepen understanding I'm happy to tutor groups or individuals and offer sessions of 45 mins plus.
