About Sam
I am a second-year Physics with Theoretical Physics student at the University of Manchester, with 200+ hours of tutoring experience at GCSE and A-level in Maths and Science.
I worked as a personal tutor over the two years of my A-level studies and enjoy the challenge of adapting my teaching strategies to each students capabilities. Working as a tutor allows me to help demystify the subjects I am passionate about for those who may have received bad teaching in the past, as is so often the case with Maths & Physics. Helping my students to achieve the grades they thought impossible has been one of my proudest achievements.
Outside my academic studies I am a keen artist and musician, achieving grade 8 piano. I played bass guitar in a band for four years and now am a resident DJ for a promoter in Manchester. I am an avid cyclist, runner, camper and walker, and have enjoyed many trips travelling around Europe by bike.

My teaching methods aim to build an understanding of the subject rather than memorizing textbook answers, and are based on my own study techniques that have proven to be very effective. Working closely with exam board specifications and mark schemes, I adapt my approach as I get to know each individual student, enabling them to achieve their best possible grades.
