About Kerolos

Choosing the right tutor is about finding someone who not only excels in their subject but also knows how to communicate it clearly and patiently.

As an award-winning Mechatronics Engineer (First-Class Honours, University of Glasgow), I have a proven track record of academic excellence, formally recognised by national engineering institutions such as the IET and IMechE. However, my true strength as a tutor lies in my ability to work with and mentor others.

Through my ongoing role as the Assistant Coach for the Scotland U14 Boys Water Polo team, I am highly experienced in working with young people, managing different learning paces, and helping individuals build confidence to perform under pressure.

Combined with my past experience as a University Teaching Assistant for several engineering courses, I have developed a highly professional, patient, and adaptable approach to mentoring.

I bring the same level of dedication and precision to my teaching as I do to my engineering projects, ensuring that no question is ever too small and every complex problem is broken down until it makes perfect sense.

About the lesson

I treat maths and physics like engineering problems: we don't just memorise the formulae, we figure out why they work and how they apply to the real world. If a student is struggling with a concept, I break it down into its simplest components and rebuild it step-by-step. I encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from them in a pressure-free environment.

While my technical foundation comes from a First-Class Mechatronics Engineering degree, my teaching style is heavily influenced by my role as the Assistant Coach for the Scotland U14 Boys Water Polo team. Coaching young athletes has taught me how to adapt my communication to different learning speeds, build up a student's confidence, and help them perform under pressure.

I tailor my lessons to fit the student's exact needs, whether that is building foundational confidence or pushing for top grades.
