About Fred
My journey into mathematics education began with a strong desire to help students overcome anxiety and frustration related to maths learning. I earned an M.Ed in Mathematics Education, where I studied instructional design, assessment strategies, and learning psychology. Over the past 12 years, I have worked extensively with students across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, helping learners replace uncertainty with confidence. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, ensuring explanations match each learner’s pace and style. I use visual models, step-by-step reasoning, and real-life examples to make abstract ideas accessible. Many students who once struggled with self-doubt gradually develop independence and belief in their abilities. Outside teaching, I design practice resources, study education research, and refine problem-solving techniques. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because it equips students with confidence, resilience, and lifelong analytical skills.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students are supported in understanding how ideas connect logically rather than memorising isolated formulae. In my lessons, I teach elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths through structured explanations that emphasise reasoning, clarity, and consistency. I help learners understand why mathematical methods work so they can approach problems confidently and independently. Lessons are personalised to each student’s learning stage. Beginners focus on number sense, arithmetic fluency, and foundational reasoning. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in geometry, algebraic manipulation, proportional thinking, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners focus on SAT maths strategies, time management, efficient reasoning, and complex problem analysis. Guided practice and reflective discussion are essential components of every lesson. Maths lessons also support patience, focus, and structured thinking habits. As students gain confidence in algebra and geometry, they approach challenges calmly and logically. My goal is to help learners trust their reasoning abilities and develop mathematical skills that support success across academic disciplines.
