About Rohit

I am strong believer in that loving a subject and scoring well in that subject is an equivalence relation. Meaning, if one loves a subject then they are bound to do well in it and vice versa.
So, my job would be to try and either make students fall in love with maths or help them with techniques that enable them to do well in their exams. (Or both!)
Maths has always fascinated me, and I have loved using logic and my problem-solving ability to breakdown complex problems and find innovative solutions. This has led me to achieve outstanding grades all throughout secondary school and university. I can transfer first-hand knowledge and tips gained in the process to students showing them that there is no substitute to hard work.

During my time at university, I was a course representative. Part of duties were to collect feedback from students and present this feedback to staff to ensure that we had a good learning experience. This experience taught me the different ways that people prefer to work and that there is no one right method of revising or going through a problem.
I also held the role of a peer mentor and was tasked with helping other students as they navigate university life. This role has made me realise how impactful someone’s personal life and commitments can be on their studies and it is very important to work around them.

About the lesson

I will try and go outside the scope of the curriculum where necessary to show students the beauty behind mathematics and help them want to ask the ‘Why?’ which will enable them to want to learn more about the subject and thus do well in their exams.

There will be a strong focus on exam-type questions, giving students the techniques, tips and tricks required to do well. I will hope to create a strong work-ethic within students so that they can use these techniques and methods in the future as they progress through secondary and higher education.

I would generally say lessons would be about an hour long, but I realise that sometimes a two-hour lesson might be more beneficial to the student, and I am happy to do that.
My lessons mainly target GCSE and A-level students but equally happy to accommodate younger children as well.
