About Sam

I'm Sam, a current undergraduate reading Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of Oxford. I'm here to ensure that you achieve your goals, whether that be getting the grades you need, broadening your understanding of the topics or exploring the wider areas of the subject to help your application to university. As someone who has gone through the process of school and university application so recently, I know what it's like to be in your shoes and I hope to help you navigate the challenges you face. I have a great academic record and experience tutoring students at all levels.

About the lesson

I can provide lessons on Maths from 11+ all the way up to Further Maths A level. I can also help with the MAT and TMUA entrance exams for Oxbridge as well as the application process as a whole.

Each lesson I will set some questions to do which might be past papers or more specific topic work. We will then review last lesson's work and any topics that you've struggled with. Drilling questions with good guidance is truly the best method to master mathematics courses.

For more advanced students looking to strengthen their application to university, we may spend lessons exploring challenging problems in an Oxbridge tutorial style. I may suggest some useful super curriculars to help you understand your prospective course and bolster your personal statement.

I think it's important that you have an experienced and relatable tutor. I disagree that Maths is a subject that some can do and others can't and I aim to give you the perfect practice you need to excel and achieve your goals. Whether that be tackling the topics you struggle with or furthering your interest in the topic and helping to land you places in top universities.

I have experience leading tutoring sessions of my peers at A level and GCSE students at school. As a current undergraduate, I can provide a realistic Oxbridge style tutorial. Academically, I have A*s in both Maths and Further Maths, the former I achieved 98% on. I achieved a score of 84 on the MAT, significantly higher than the average offer holder for my year, which, along with my interviews, allowed me to join the University of Oxford for one of the most competitive degrees.

Pre GCSE and GCSE - £25/hour
A Level - £30/hour
MAT/TMUA Prep - £35/hour
As always, the first hour is free. This is so I can assess your needs and you can see if I'm what you're after.
