About Shirley Veronika
Hi, I’m Shirley! I’m a friendly, patient and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students learn and become more confident.
I believe that learning should feel supportive rather than stressful. I am someone who is happy to explain something in different ways, listen carefully to a student’s questions and give them the time they need to understand.
I especially enjoy working with children and young people, and I find it rewarding to see a student go from saying “I can’t do this” to realising that they actually can.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, learning new things, exploring new places and spending time with my community. I am reliable, organised and take my responsibilities seriously.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable, respected and encouraged during every lesson. I want to be someone they can confidently ask questions to, without feeling embarrassed about making mistakes.

I am a patient, caring and dedicated Maths and Science tutor with a strong academic background and experience supporting children and young people with their learning.
I hold an MSc in Financial Technology, an MBA in Finance and a BCom degree, giving me a strong foundation in Mathematics, analytical thinking and problem-solving.
I have previous experience supporting students through volunteering as a teacher, and I now work in education supporting pupils with their learning and development. This has helped me understand that every student learns differently, and that patience, encouragement and clear explanations can make a real difference.
My lessons are personalised to each student's needs. I take time to understand what they already know, identify areas they find difficult and explain concepts step-by-step in a way that feels comfortable and easy to understand.
I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and trying again.
Whether your child needs help with schoolwork, wants to strengthen their foundations, prepare for assessments or simply become more confident in Maths or Science, I will work with them at their own pace and help them develop both their understanding and independence.
My goal is not just to help students find the correct answer, but to help them understand why the answer is correct and feel confident solving similar problems independently.
