About Kate

Hi, I’m Kate. I’m a warm, friendly, and empathetic communicator with extensive experience teaching and running workshops throughout my professional career. I’m known for my ability to connect quickly with people and build strong working relationships that make learning feel natural and enjoyable.

I'm currently a Scientist and working in the nuclear industry while leading training courses and workshops designed to boost company engagement, collaboration, and professional development. Skilled at breaking down complex topics into accessible lessons that inspire confidence and curiosity.

I also hold a 1st Class degree in Physics and a Master’s in Psychology, combining analytical precision with deep understanding of human behaviour. This unique blend allows me to support both academic achievement and personal growth in my students.

Outside of work, I’m a keen fitness enthusiast who loves being outdoors and embracing new adventures. I bring that same energy and positivity into my lessons, creating an environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore ideas, and master their subjects — even if it means taking a less conventional path.

My goal is always to make learning engaging, supportive, and confidence-building, so every student feels motivated to reach their full potential.

About the lesson

My approach is always student led-I am interested in finding out more about them and how best they respond to different learning and teaching styles. Firstly, we can do a "diagnostic test"- I will ask the student about different topics and run through some typical questions, and see where the weak points are and from that, I can build lesson plans .

I specialize in exam preparation and technique. In fact, during my own studies I achieved the highest grade (90%) in a double-module calculus exam without attending a single lecture, simply by mastering exam strategies in a short time frame. This experience has given me unique insight into how to approach exams with confidence and efficiency, and I’m passionate about helping my students achieve the same success.

Above all, I aim to make learning engaging, supportive, and empowering — building not just knowledge, but also confidence and curiosity.
