About Luke
I have always loved learning, whether the information I have taken on has become useful in life or not. Therefore I couldn't think of a better career path to follow than teaching. I cannot express enough the satisfaction I get from having been part of someone's educational successes.
With a huge passion for Mathematics, science and education, I have found myself working with learners of all levels, needs and situations. I now have over 3 years experience working as a teacher in an adult prison, teaching Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1, all the way up to Level 2 and GCSE. I truly believe that education is the key to success and personal development, reaching much further than a simple qualification.
I also have experience working in a college environment and secondary schools. All of my teaching roles; both current and previous, have involved full class teaching and 1:1 tutoring/enrichment sessions.

I am a strong advocate for ensuring everyone is able to access a beneficial and enjoyable education, no matter what their behaviours, needs, circumstances or abilities. Therefore, my teaching approach is tailored exclusively to each learner I work with. There is no right or wrong way to learn, but simply an individual's optimum method unique to them. As a result of this I will always offer a free first session with new learners in order to assess their personal requirements.
Everybody deserves the right to education, and I feel very strongly about this. I pride myself on my zero-judgement attitude, and simply thrive off the challenge to find the best way to approach someone's barriers to learning.
I am flexible with lessons of varying lengths and can provide tutoring ranging from one-off sessions, to regular appointments. My expertise lie with Maths, but with a passion for sciences I am also currently studying a Physics degree part-time, so this is an area I am more than happy to work within and have a strong knowledge of. I am happy to work with learners from primary age, all the way up to adults; with educational levels varying from primary to A-level.
