About Tia

Hi everyone! My name is Tia and I'm a student in my final year of A-Levels! I study Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science and I also completed an EPQ in Economics in Year 12. In university, I aspire to study Economics. I love teaching younger students because Maths is one of my favourite subjects and I want to share that passion - it is so fun getting excited together with a student when they master a new concept! Outside of school, I am a competitive kayaker and I also enjoy playing lacrosse, badminton and basketball with my friends. I love learning new languages (I am currently teaching myself Korean and working towards an internationally recognised qualification in Spanish), travelling to new countries, listening to music, skiing and scuba-diving! I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

About the lesson

I teach classes in the evenings and on weekends and I am quite flexible so classes can vary from in length depending on student preferences and availability. As I am currently in Year 13 studying Maths and Further Maths A-Levels, my classes are suitable for GCSE students or younger. I achieved Grade 9 on the new 9-1 system (equivalent of a high A*) in both Maths and Further Maths GCSE, with 98% in Maths and 97% in Further Maths and I am predicted A* in both Maths and Further Maths A-Level. Within school, I am Head of Maths Society and I run weekly sessions, help organise competitions with other schools and arrange for external speakers. I have also previously tutored students in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. My teaching style varies from student to student as I am very adaptive - I can explain concepts, work through problems, provide worksheets, help with homework, explain wrong answers or do anything else the student asks for. I want to help each student according to their individual needs.
