About Logan

I'm a current math tutor at Mathnasium in Arlington, VA, with almost two years of experience teaching students from 1st through 10th grade. I scored in the top 5% on the SAT Math section, so I bring a strong personal foundation in the material on top of my classroom experience. I'm also an Eagle Scout and a nationally competitive debater, so reliability, clear communication, and being someone parents can trust are things I take seriously in every session.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is hands-on and adaptive. I start each lesson by figuring out exactly where a student is getting stuck, not just what topic they're struggling with, and I adjust my explanation until something clicks, often using multiple methods for the same concept. A typical lesson starts with reviewing recent homework or trouble spots, moves into direct instruction on the concept at hand, and ends with practice problems I walk through together with the student so they leave with real confidence, not just a completed worksheet.

What sets me apart is that I tutor full-time at a math learning center, so I've worked with a wide range of learning styles and paces, and I know how to keep sessions engaging rather than repetitive. I work with students from elementary school through 10th grade, covering everything from basic arithmetic through Trigonometry, as well as SAT Math prep for students working toward a strong score.
