About Aguanmase

Hello! My name is Aguanmase Igori, and I am a dedicated secondary teacher with over ten years of experience in teaching Mathematics at various levels, including KS3 and A-Level. I hold a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Greenwich, London, and a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria.

I am passionate about teaching because I believe that every student has the potential to succeed. My goal is to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. I have successfully improved student performance in my previous roles, with the A* - C pass rate in my department rising from 31% to 62% over three years 1. I strive to accommodate diverse learning needs by offering individualized support and integrating effective materials into my lessons.

I understand the importance of building strong relationships with my students, and I work hard to create a rapport that fosters trust and respect. I believe that setting realistic goals and making Mathematics relevant to everyday life are essential for student success 1. I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly reflect on my teaching practices to ensure that I provide the best possible education for my students.

About the lesson

I employ a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate diverse student needs. My focus is on facilitating all styles of learners by offering individualised and extracurricular support, integrating effective materials, and setting realistic goals to ensure student success. My methodology includes a behaviour management system that promotes high standards of uniform and behavior while rewarding positive actions

I have extensive experience teaching various subjects, including Mathematics, in different educational settings. Typically, my sessions can last between 60 and 120 minutes.

I hold a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Greenwich, London, awarded in 2001, and a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria 2. With over ten years of experience as a supply teacher, I have taught Mathematics at various levels, including KS3 and A-Level, and have worked with students who have special educational needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.

My lessons are designed for a wide range of students, including those in KS3 to A-Level Mathematics. I have experience teaching students who function below, on, and above their predicted grades, and I have specifically worked with permanently excluded students from mainstream education or those at risk of exclusion . My approach is tailored to accommodate students with special educational needs, ensuring that all learners can progress within their educational settings.
