About Curtis

I have 9 years of experience teaching mathematics and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics. My education and practice provide a strong foundation in abstract concepts, problem-solving techniques, and mathematical reasoning, which I integrate into lessons to make the subject engaging and accessible.

I work with students across all levels, from beginners building confidence with numbers to advanced learners preparing for competitions or higher studies. My teaching emphasizes clarity, patience, and structured support, combining visual examples, stepwise explanations, and interactive exercises to strengthen comprehension and skill application.

Teaching mathematics is incredibly rewarding because I witness students grow from confusion to clarity, gradually developing confidence and independent problem-solving skills. Observing learners understand challenging concepts, visualize solutions, and apply reasoning creatively motivates me to continuously refine my teaching approach. My aim is to provide a balanced, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where students cultivate not only technical skills but also analytical thinking, persistence, and curiosity, empowering them to excel academically and in real-world problem-solving.

About the lesson

My math lessons are designed to make abstract concepts tangible and relatable. I cover algebra, geometry, calculus, probability, and problem-solving strategies, emphasizing understanding rather than memorization. Students learn how to approach complex problems step by step, visualize patterns, and develop logical thinking. Lessons include practical examples, visual aids, and interactive exercises that foster curiosity and analytical reasoning.

I tailor lessons to the student’s level. Beginners focus on foundational operations, simple equations, and basic geometry with patient guidance and hands-on exercises. Intermediate learners work on multi-step problems, functions, graphs, and probability, with structured practice and feedback. Advanced learners explore calculus, complex problem-solving, mathematical modeling, and competition-style questions. Each session integrates guided practice, reasoning exercises, and discussion to strengthen understanding and confidence.

I aim to help students build confidence, independent thinking, and analytical skills that extend beyond math. Through encouragement and exploration, learners develop problem-solving abilities, logical reasoning, and appreciation for mathematical structure. Over time, students become capable of tackling challenges with resilience and creativity.
