About Jacob
I have had multiple experiences teaching and demonstrating new concepts to students younger than me, or even my peers, through the Explo pre-college program. I was tested not only on how to solve mathematics problems, but also explain how to answer them as well. My typical approach as a tutor is looking at problems before hand, then reviewing them with the student in a way where they learn best.

I have experience tutoring students weekly in various subjects. I mostly specialize in teaching Algebra 1 and 2 courses. I also have tutored students who struggle with the math section of the SAT. The approach I usually take is having the student send me problems ahead of time, so that I can work on them before hand, and then give an in-depth explanation of the problems, or have the student work side-by-side with me to help explain the steps. To teach a concept, I will typically break it down first, then use example problems next. I am available to teach mathematics to students from 6th to 12th grade.
