About the lesson

I am a Mathematics teacher, with seven years of experience teaching in two high achieving secondary schools: the first, in South West London was awarded “Comprehensive School of the Year 2016”, while the second, in Dubai, is reputed in the Top 5 Schools in the UAE.

In my planning and teaching, I continually strive to raise the achievement of my students through well-structured and relevant Maths lessons, with the aim of inciting curiosity and a love of learning. Based on appropriate challenge, passionate subject knowledge and collaborative learning, my lessons have consistently been judged ‘outstanding’. While the evidence of my successful teaching can be found in my consistently excellent results, my greatest moments of accomplishment have been hearing from students how being in my class has changed his, or her, outlook, confidence and enjoyment of the subject.

In my previous school, I was a curriculum leader in Mathematics, with additional responsibility for intervention across the 11-18 age range. One of my key responsibilities was transferring to the new GCSE curriculum so I am very clued up on the new curriculum and assessments.
