About Lukman

My name is Lukman Olalekan Bakare.
I currently work as a Minister in charge of Youth Training and Development with a Christian organization (CLASS UK) based in Erith, Kent.
I am a graduate of Geology but I took interest in teaching. I have worked as a mathematics and science teacher in Nigeria and mostly in South Africa (about 10 years in South Africa). I have worked in different fields including banking and finance, teaching/education and even as a pastor and counselor of Youth-Churches and with churches.
I have also studied books about different interests such as history, engineering-mathematics, supernatural mysteries etc.
I personally enjoy epic adventure stories, science-fiction movies and mythology.

About the lesson

The method I use involves taking time to drive a good knowledge and understanding of basic content and then move to more challenging concepts of each topic. The idea is to let students understand the underlying principles that build up to seeming complex workings e.g. a lack of understanding of the basic principles of algebraic-variables and laws of exponents already defeats the attempt of any student who wishes to understand any type of function. Learning mathematics can be seen as boring by many disinterested students and it takes a person who understands such feelings to break through the barrier that makes learners see this subject as 'boring'. I have been there and it took a specially kind teacher to help me learn how to redirect my playful energy and apply it to learning mathematics. I later began to enjoy the study of the subject because time was spent to properly explain basic algebra to me.
Hence, working from the foundation is very curial to building your knowledge of any subject.
