About Mark
When I was in high school, I struggled a lot with mathematics. I would study for hours but still pull B's and C's on my exams in Algebra II and Precalculus. Though I was an AP student I decided not to take Calculus with all of my friends for fear that I would fail. Now, I LOVE math - I'm a mathematics and political science major at Emory University - and I want to help people overcome the struggle of learning mathematics to do better in school and appreciate its beauty.

I've tutored lots of students, both individually and as a group. My first lesson was with a buddy in my differential equations class during my sophomore year of college; he was struggling with Calc-II level integrals and so I helped him brush up to do better in the course.
When it comes down to it, math is about a lot more than computation. If you can work through a problem, that's great - but it doesn't always mean you know why what you did works. I've found that teaching the "why" behind the steps we take to solve a problem helps better understand 1) what the problem is asking, 2) how to solve it, 3) how to solve other problems that are similar but not the same.
