About Maria Mohan
Currently a University student, majoring in Mathematics (with education), need a bit of exposure to younger generation students to be a better teacher in future. I just started tutoring and wanted to expand my experience, however I do believe that I have the capabilities to teach as I have been tutoring a friend, he has constantly failed maths, I got worried hence I started teaching him. He managed to get B after a set of tailored lessons I have given.

My teaching methods include:
- Positive reinforcement: rewarding, I believe that negative reinforcement is harmful in the long run.
- Ensuring the student is in the right state of mind, providing a conducive environment (ie allowing snacks, breaks)
- Prioritisation of understanding/comprehension under supervision is more effective than heavy workload (I do not pressure students psychologically)
- Target problem areas with tailored lessons to ensure the student understands the concept behind the calculations (no memorisation)
