About Tom
I am a graduate from the University of St Andrews with seven years of experience as a private tutor for A-level and GCSE mathematics. I am focused on getting students comfortable and confident in taking their exams and as a result have helped over 20 students achieve A and A* results at A-level. Looking forward to meeting you!

My teaching focuses on creating a good conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts first, and then moving on to practice questions to actually consolidate and use this understanding. I take care to ensure students don't have any gaps in their knowledge which will cause them to fall behind, and when exams are approaching my focus shifts to working through practice papers of the students exam board, and getting used to completing them in exam conditions. I offer lessons of 1 to 2 hours usually. I have seven years of experience teachnig GCSE and A-level mathematics, and have taken maths and further maths A-level myself, as well as several elective modules in mathematics at the University of St Andrews.
