About Jack
My passion for mathematics began with curiosity about how abstract reasoning can explain patterns in science, economics, and technology. This led me to pursue an M.Sc in Mathematical Modelling, where I explored advanced analytical tools and real-world applications. Over the past 12 years, I have supported students in overcoming maths anxiety and building strong confidence through structured guidance.
My teaching style is patient, concept-focused, and adaptable. I ensure students understand the logic behind methods, using step-by-step breakdowns, visual explanation, and plenty of practice. I encourage learners to ask questions freely and build independence in problem solving.
Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with mathematics through continued study, exploring modelling applications, and following developments in data-driven sciences. Teaching maths is fulfilling because I see learners transform from uncertainty into confidence. My mission is to help students trust their thinking and achieve long-term success.

Mathematics becomes much more approachable when students see it as a clear system of reasoning rather than a collection of confusing rules. In my lessons, I guide learners through algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus basics, and statistics with calm explanation and structured practice. I focus on helping students understand concepts deeply, so they feel confident solving problems independently rather than relying on memorisation. Each session creates a supportive environment where mistakes are treated as part of learning.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level and needs. Beginners build strong number confidence, arithmetic fluency, and equation foundations. Intermediate learners strengthen algebraic manipulation, graph interpretation, geometry reasoning, and exam-focused techniques. Advanced students explore calculus applications, probability challenges, optimisation problems, and deeper analytical thinking. Feedback and guided practice are included in every class to ensure progress.
Maths lessons also build resilience, patience, and confidence. Students learn how to break down complex problems into manageable steps and trust their reasoning. Many learners discover that maths becomes less intimidating once clarity is achieved. My goal is to help students succeed academically while developing lifelong problem-solving skills.
