About Selene

I have 6 years of experience teaching Mathematics to students working towards academic improvement and exam success. I earned a B.Sc in Mathematical Sciences, which gave me strong grounding in analytical reasoning, abstract thinking, and practical mathematical applications. This academic foundation helps me guide students with both clarity and depth.

My teaching style is structured, patient, and focused on building true understanding. I enjoy helping learners move beyond memorisation and develop confidence through reasoning. I create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

Outside tutoring, I stay connected to mathematics through continued learning, problem-solving practice, and interest in how maths supports technology and science. Teaching maths is meaningful because students often discover new confidence in their own thinking ability. Supporting that growth is what motivates my work.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes much less stressful when students learn to trust the logic behind every step. In my lessons, I focus on building strong understanding in algebra, functions, geometry, and foundational calculus through clear explanation and guided practice. I help learners see mathematics as a connected system of ideas rather than isolated formulae. Each session is designed to feel calm, structured, and encouraging, allowing students to improve steadily without pressure.

Lessons are always shaped around the student’s current level. Beginners work on strengthening number confidence, basic equations, and step-by-step reasoning. Intermediate learners develop skills in graph interpretation, multi-step algebra, geometry applications, and exam-style questions. Advanced students explore deeper calculus thinking, mathematical modelling, and higher-level problem strategies with accuracy and confidence. Practice is always paired with feedback and supportive correction.

Mathematics builds discipline, focus, and a powerful way of thinking. Over time, students begin approaching challenges with more confidence and clarity. My goal is to help every learner feel capable, supported, and successful in mathematics.
