About Blake
My journey into mathematics education began with a strong desire to help students overcome anxiety, frustration, and self-doubt related to maths learning. I earned an M.Sc in Mathematics Education, where I studied curriculum development, assessment design, and learning psychology. Over the past 13 years, I have worked extensively with students in elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, supporting learners at different stages of academic growth. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that explanations match each student’s pace and learning style. I rely on visual models, step-by-step breakdowns, and real-world examples to make abstract ideas accessible. Many students who once struggled with confidence gradually develop independence and belief in their abilities. Beyond teaching, I design practice resources, analyse educational research, and refine problem-solving strategies. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding to me because it empowers students with confidence, resilience, and lifelong analytical skills.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students understand how concepts connect logically rather than viewing topics as separate rules. In my lessons, I support learners across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths through structured explanations that emphasise reasoning, clarity, and consistency. I help students understand why mathematical methods work so they can solve problems confidently and independently. Lesson plans are carefully personalised to each learner’s level. Beginners focus on number sense, arithmetic fluency, and foundational logic. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in geometry, algebraic manipulation, proportional reasoning, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners concentrate on SAT maths strategies, time management, efficient reasoning, and complex problem analysis. Guided practice and reflective discussion are central to every lesson. Maths lessons also build patience, focus, and structured thinking habits. As students gain confidence in algebra and geometry, they approach challenges with greater calm and persistence. My goal is to help learners trust their reasoning abilities and develop mathematical skills that support long-term academic success.
