About Riya

My interest in Mathematics began with a fascination for patterns, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. Pursuing a B.Sc in Mathematics and M.Sc in Applied Mathematics allowed me to deepen my understanding of algebra, geometry, and applied problem-solving. Over 8 years, I have taught students from foundational elementary school math to middle school math, advanced algebra, geometry, and SAT math, emphasizing clarity, structured explanation, and confidence-building. I tailor lessons to each student’s pace, using visual examples, analogies, and stepwise guidance. Beginners strengthen fundamentals, intermediate learners develop reasoning skills, and advanced students tackle SAT-style problems and complex algebraic and geometric exercises. I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and provide reassurance, fostering a supportive learning environment. Outside teaching, I explore innovative problem-solving techniques, real-world applications, and exam strategies to enhance lessons. Witnessing students transform from uncertainty to confidence, and develop both competence and enthusiasm for Mathematics, is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes approachable and exciting when students understand connections between elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math. My lessons focus on conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and structured problem-solving. Beginners strengthen number sense, basic operations, and foundational problem-solving skills. Intermediate learners tackle multi-step algebraic problems, geometric reasoning, fractions, and word problems. Advanced students focus on SAT math, coordinate geometry, functions, and higher-order problem-solving strategies. Each session incorporates examples, guided exercises, and reasoning strategies to build competence, confidence, and independence.

Lesson pacing is adapted to the learner’s level. Beginners receive patient instruction with step-by-step examples and visual aids. Intermediate learners develop reasoning strategies and apply them to more complex problems. Advanced learners tackle challenging SAT math, complex geometry, and advanced algebraic problems. Lessons integrate consistent feedback, practice exercises, and interactive problem-solving to foster both understanding and confidence in applying mathematical reasoning.

Math lessons cultivate analytical thinking, clarity, and perseverance. As learners progress from foundational arithmetic to advanced topics, they gain improved problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and confidence. Many students enjoy applying patterns and strategies to real-world scenarios and exams. My goal is to empower learners to approach math with curiosity, confidence, and independence, creating long-lasting competence.
