About Zachary
My passion for mathematics began with curiosity about patterns, logic, and problem-solving. I earned an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I studied advanced concepts and educational strategies to support effective teaching. Over the past 13 years, I have worked with students across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, helping them build clarity, independence, and confidence. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, recognising that each learner approaches maths differently. I use visual models, step-by-step reasoning, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts accessible. Many students who initially struggle gradually develop independence and self-assurance as they understand how maths works logically. Outside teaching, I continuously refine instructional methods, design practice resources, and stay updated with research in mathematics education. Teaching mathematics is profoundly rewarding because it equips students with confidence, resilience, and lifelong analytical skills.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students understand the reasoning behind each concept rather than memorising formulas. In my lessons, I support learners in elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths through clear, structured explanations that emphasise connections between ideas. I help students see patterns and relationships in mathematics so learning becomes meaningful, logical, and engaging. Lesson plans are carefully tailored to each learner’s level and goals. Beginners focus on foundational number sense, arithmetic fluency, and building confidence through problem-solving. Intermediate learners strengthen geometry skills, algebraic manipulation, proportional reasoning, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners focus on SAT maths strategies, efficient reasoning, and tackling complex problems with confidence. Guided practice, discussion, and reflection are key components of every session. Maths lessons also develop critical thinking, patience, and structured reasoning skills. As students gain confidence, they approach challenges calmly and methodically. My goal is to help learners trust their reasoning abilities and develop strong mathematical habits that support long-term academic success.
