About Jemima

My name's Jem, I'm a graduate in Maths from the University of Bristol, but I'm also a songwriter and producer. I started tutoring to supplement my income from music but have found it incredibly rewarding and inspiring. Tying my left and my right brain together has been crucial to my career as a musician but I've also found it really useful in teaching people Maths who don't feel like they're naturally gifted in the subject. I used to be that person before I had a teacher who taught me in a way that made sense to me. I went on to study it at University and still hold onto my arts and writing skills and see how they all tie together and benefit each other.

About the lesson

Maths is hard! But I believe that there's a route to understanding for everyone. My lessons are as much about getting you through your homework as developing a deeper understanding and technique to create your own stories within your Maths curriculum. Whether you're a visual learner, a practical learner or a listener, we can find a way to get Maths to work for you. Since I graduated from the University of Bristol I've taught students from GCSE level up to first-year undergraduate. My students develop a sustainable understanding on top of passing their exams! Lessons are at least an hour, in person or online, for GCSE level students and upwards to first-year undergraduates studying Mathematics, or for specific Maths modules within their degree.
