About Mark
My journey into mathematics education began with a fascination for patterns, logic, and structured reasoning. I earned an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I studied advanced mathematical concepts, curriculum design, and pedagogical methods to support diverse learners. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with students across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, helping them gain clarity, confidence, and independence. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, always tailoring explanations to meet the individual needs of each learner. I use visual representations, step-by-step reasoning, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts more tangible. Many students who initially struggle gradually develop independence and a strong sense of mathematical self-belief. Outside teaching, I continue refining instructional methods, developing custom practice resources, and staying updated on educational research. Teaching mathematics is profoundly rewarding because it equips students with analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that will benefit them for life.

Mathematics becomes approachable and even enjoyable when students understand the logic behind each step instead of memorising formulas mechanically. In my lessons, I guide learners through elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths using carefully structured explanations that emphasise patterns, relationships, and conceptual clarity. I aim to help students approach problems with confidence, logical reasoning, and self-assurance. Lesson plans are personalised to match each student’s level and learning objectives. Beginners focus on developing number sense, arithmetic fluency, and foundational problem-solving skills. Intermediate learners strengthen their understanding of geometry, algebraic manipulation, proportional reasoning, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners tackle SAT maths strategies, time management, complex problem-solving, and flexible reasoning. Guided practice, reflection, and stepwise instruction are central to every session, ensuring steady progress and mastery. Maths lessons also develop patience, critical thinking, and structured analytical reasoning. As learners gain confidence, they tackle problems with calm persistence, gradually building the skills necessary for long-term academic success. My goal is to help students internalise mathematical logic and develop lifelong problem-solving skills.
