I begin with gauging the current level of knowledge in the student(s) and making them to think in the direction of enhancing this current level. I rarely use written notes, as I believe in connecting the concepts in a student's mind rather than overawing him/her with a series of notes or ideas which are to be imbibed in one's brain.
