About Ishaan

I’m Ishaan, a young professional in banking with a background in economics and financial analysis, and I bring a relatable, supportive approach to tutoring. I focus on making math less intimidating by keeping sessions interactive, practical, and easy to follow. I understand that math can feel overwhelming at times, so I balance focused learning with lighter, more relaxed sessions to help students stay engaged without burnout.

About the lesson

With a background in Economics and professional experience in financial analysis and banking, I emphasize helping students understand not just how to solve problems, but why those concepts matter in everyday life. My teaching style is highly interactive, using engaging exercises, online tools, and relatable examples to make learning enjoyable and effective. I follow the Ontario curriculum closely, ensuring that students from Grades 6–12 receive targeted support aligned with their school requirements, including dedicated preparation for the Grade 9 EQAO assessment.

A typical lesson begins with a brief recap of previous material to assess understanding and retention, followed by the introduction of a new concept explained through real-world scenarios. Students then work through guided practice problems, supported by interactive activities to reinforce learning in a fun way. Short quizzes are incorporated to evaluate progress, track improvement, and build confidence, with a structured scoring system and bonus opportunities to motivate students. Lessons conclude with a preview of upcoming topics to ensure continuity and readiness. My approach is ideal for students seeking clarity in core concepts and improved academic performance in mathematics and statistics.
