I am a BSc Mathematics and Philosophy Leeds university graduate from London.
Be it my sibling and cousins, or younger pupils at my school, it feels me with joy to help someone and see them go from confusion to understanding in a problem.

My methodology is to first teach a student why something works as it does, and then teach them how to do it. I believe what makes maths difficult can usually be attributed to a failure to explain. School children are given problems and a method to solve them, and treated like human computers. Once the reason and purpose for what they're doing is explained, maths becomes far easier, more relatable, and far more enjoyable.
I have always loved maths, though that is not to say I have never struggled with it. I believe the best teachers are those that have had difficulty and succeeded despite that, as they can understand empathise with the struggle.
