About Felix

I am a business administration student at the University of Mannheim in the first semester. My high school graduation in 2018 took place near Stuttgart with the core subjects Math, German, English, Physics and Social Studies. Even at my old high school, I gave tutoring. In addition to math, I discovered my love for English through a mega cool inspiring teacher whom I may call a good friend today. After graduating, I worked and then traveled through New Zealand in a car for 7 months. Finally, I landed in Mannheim with business administration, the math and Englishlastige part of the study has me very addressed.

About the lesson

Q: What qualifies you, Felix? A: Early on I realized how the school system works and how to achieve maximum success with minimal effort. So I made a short cut of 1.3 with a short preparation. In addition to math (advanced level + Abi: 14.5) just my English (advanced level: 13) in New Zealand made a big leap again and I have reached some native friends native speaker level. Q: What is your mentality? A: I believe that every student in the current school system can write a good to very good high school diploma. It is important to understand the school system and its requirements. Also, it often fails because students have never been properly taught what effective learning means. I want to give every tuition student the right tools. Q: What is your teaching method? A: Every student is different and has different strengths and difficulties. In a first meeting I would like to get to know the person better to see if I am the optimal person for an efficient tutoring. If this is the case, I design a learning profile and basics are quickly worked up. Then I will teach the student important learning concepts such as the 80/20 model and gradually bring them closer to working independently, until my support is no longer necessary.

I had the lovely opportunity to meet Felix during my travels this past year in New Zealand and to be quite frank- I had no idea he was German! His English is very fluent and he has a perfect dialect. I was even able to learn a bit of German from him as we were able to communicate flawlessly during our travels. I found Felix to be very patient, understanding, and adaptable when he taught me. I also find these all to be contributing skills and traits to a strong candidate for an English teacher! I’m not the quickest learner but Felix met me where my skillest was at and worked on learning simple phrases and numbers in German. Felix is overall a very kind, wholesome and genuine human who would certainly excel in helping others learn English!
