About Rhiana

Hi, I’m Rhiana, and I believe that anyone can succeed in maths with the right support and mindset. For many people, maths feels like a wall, something that’s hard to get past. But I see it differently. Maths is like a puzzle: once you understand the pieces and how they fit together, it becomes not just manageable, but actually enjoyable. I want to help students get to that point. Where the subject stops being scary and starts to feel like something they can truly master. My passion for tutoring started when I volunteered in my school’s maths department. Helping those who were a few years below me move from frustration to confidence made me realise how powerful one-on-one support can be. I loved seeing students go from “I can’t do this” to “Wait-I get it now!” I teach because I want to change the way people see maths. You don’t have to be a “maths person” to do well. You just need someone to explain it in a way that makes sense to you. That’s what I aim to do in every session: meet you where you are, help you feel confident in your skills, and show you that maths is something you can do. If you’ve ever felt stuck or left behind, don’t worry, you’re not alone! I’m here to help you move forward, build your confidence, and maybe even enjoy the journey along the way.

About the lesson

I offer a supportive and engaging approach to maths tutoring, tailored to each student’s needs. I aim to build confidence and understanding by breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps. My lessons are interactive and focus on problem-solving, using visual aids and real-world examples to make abstract concepts clearer. I adapt my methods to suit different learning styles and abilities. Lessons typically last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, based on the student’s preference and learning pace. I hold a Saltire Award for volunteering in my high school’s Maths Department. During this time, I worked as a classroom assistant for S2 and S4 classes, supporting students and helping explain topics in different ways to suit their understanding. I tutor students from S1 to S4, including those preparing for National 5 Maths. Whether you need help with homework, exam prep, or boosting your overall confidence in maths, I’m here to support you.
