About Kristen
Hi! I'm a high school senior with strong academic performance in math and recent experience with the material I teach. Because I've taken these classes not long ago, I understand common challenges students face and how to explain concepts in a clear and relatable way.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and understanding so they can succeed independently.

My approach as a tutor is focused on making math understandable and less intimidating. I start by figuring out what the student already knows and where they are struggling, then explain concepts step-by-step in a simple way they can understand.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing any homework or topics the student finds difficult. Then, I walk through similar problems, explaining each step and the reasoning behind it. After that, the student completes practice problems, with my additional guidance as needed.
My lessons are best suited for elementary and middle school students, as well as high school students taking introductory math classes such as algebra or geometry. I can help with homework, test preparation, and general skill-building.
