About Hazel

Hi! I'm Hazel, a 2-year veteran math tutor, specializing in arithmetic for elementary/middle-school students. I understand that for many people math can be a challenging and sometimes even intimidating subject to learn. My job is to help you realize that math can be learned and understood by everyone with enough patience and practice. Learning styles can vary from student to student, which is why I adapt to each lesson to the learning style of the student. No matter if a student is struggling to keep up or just needs a little extra help to keep ahead of the curve, I want to make sure that they feel comfortable in a relaxed and friendly setting where they can work through their questions and confusion, gain the necessary skills, and become confident in their ability to understand and work through new math problems. Parents and students have commented on my patience, ability to communicate complex ideas simply, and being able to change a student's tears of frustration into smiles of progress. I pride myself on being reliable, professional, and committed to the success of my students not only in their math classwork but in all their schoolwork as well.
