About Brandon
I am a saxophonist in pursuit of a master's degree in music performance. While obtaining my Bachelor's degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I double-majored in music and mathematics with a teaching concentration. I have been tutoring for about 4 years, mentoring students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, AP and university calculus, and GRE math prep. In my final semester at UMass, I worked as an athletic tutor, providing weekly sessions to over ten student athletes.

In addition to my experience with university-level students, I have worked for three years as a substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels. As someone who struggles to memorize large quantities of information, I teach toward understanding so that students can relate concepts to other things they already know. Furthermore, if I am unsure whether a student is confident on a particular skill, I always offer a different explanation or another problem for him or her to try.

Perfect! He was able to teach her the missing links in math that was messing my daughter up. After one lesson, there was a dramatic difference in her grade. My daughter was comfortable with Brandon right away that I believe helped her to focus and learn more. Best Tudor ever!
