About Peter
In high school, I was that student that took geometry between 9th & 10th grade in order to take AP Calculus my senior year. While I enjoyed math, I wasn't as passionate about having math to be my major. I wanted to be a German teacher but when I entered a community college that did not offer German, I began helping classmates with math and that is when I decided to be a math major.
Back in 2022, I completed my BS in Math from Indiana University and I recently completed my MAT in Math from Indiana University. In addition to my BS and my MAT degrees, I also have earned a Graduate Certificate in Online Learning & Assessment and in Mathematics also from Indiana University. In the Fall 2026, I am starting the Graduate Certificate Program in Computer Science at Indiana University. Hopefully I would like to go for an EdD in Technology Education.
While I may not have taught in a public school, I have done private tutoring and I have trained and coached co-workers in my professional job experience (from working at hotels and for a health insurance company).
Even though I live in the Buffalo, NY area, I can travel to meet at a location for sessions and even conduct online sessions (even if you are outside the Buffalo, NY area).
I am an avid learner in order to bring the best experience to students.

I enjoy the areas of algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus.
My methods of teaching are patience and understanding as students come from various backgrounds and each student has different learning styles. I want the students that I tutor to know it is about them and what they need help in.
A lesson may start off with a warm-up problem that would lead into the main lesson. A lesson may be questions that the student may have from their homework from class, go over a quiz or test.
I want to encourage students to go through a problem with explaining their steps and never feel embarrassed about making a mistake. I want students to freely ask questions that they may have fear of asking in their regular class. Above all, I want students to know that it is always ok to ask for help.
