About Matthew
My name is Matthew Camire (you can call me Mr. C), and I specialize in Middle School and early High School Mathematics. I have my B.S. in Mathematics & M. Ed. in Secondary Education and have earned my teacher's license in my home state of MA. Additionally, I have taught mathematics at multiple public schools and am currently working as a full-time math tutor both independently and as an employee of Tutor Doctor Chattanooga.
In addition to being an educator, I am also a huge nerd, who loves to watch anime, read manga, and play videogames in my free time. I recently took up woodworking & pyrography as hobbies and have a huge soft spot for dogs. I also have a chihuahua/pitbull mix named Nobi, who is a very good boy.

Let's make sense of math! My specialty is in Algebra & Geometry, and I have tutored students from 5th grade to college students. In my teaching I value effort and perseverance. I don't expect my students to get everything on the first try and instead value of process of problem solving. I help students in learning to identify patterns and breaking down big problems into multiple steps. Many students do not like math and tend to feel stupid when it seems too difficult for them. I give positive feedback frequently when teaching and try to build a sense of confidence capability in my students.
