About Lucy

I am a 4th year science undergraduate student who is passionate about teaching! I have 2 years of tutoring experience and have previously tutored math 9 and 10 as well as chemistry 11 for students in my community who find these topics challenging and I will gladly tutor other math and science classes too. I know what it feels like to struggle with a topic and find it difficult to ask for help, which is why I create a positive and judgment-free learning environment where no question is a silly question.

I was an Honors with Distinction student all throughout high school, and I maintain good academic standing in university. Post-graduation I will be going into teaching! I am bilingual (English + French).

In my spare time, I have coached 4+ years of soccer to children and youth which has taught me lots of patience and communication skills that allow me to be a great tutor.

I can’t wait to help!

About the lesson

Sessions are spent going over what material was taught in class and addressing any gaps or confusion, followed by doing practice problems under supervision to solidify knowledge and create opportunities for questions. I excel at explaining topics in simple terms and breaking down problems into clear steps.

For math or chemistry students in grades 6 to 12 following the BC curriculum. Including pre-calculus 11 and 12. Excludes calculus 12.

Online sessions - Rate: $30/h
In person session - Rate $40/h due to commuting costs and added time

I am happy to tutor online on Zoom, in person at the student’s house, or at a public library/public place.
