About Ivan

As a lifelong learner and tutor, I've always been passionate about helping others understand what once felt impossible. I started by helping friends, and then I became a teaching assistant for underclassmen in high school. Since then, I’ve focused that passion into one clear mission: disproving the myth that you need to be “naturally smart or talented” to succeed. Whoever you are reading this, I hope you take away one thing. You can learn anything you set your mind to, sometimes you just need the right support.

About the lesson

What's the biggest reason some students struggle in the classroom and others excel? It's not as simple as work ethic, and it's definitely not just natural intelligence. As a graduate of one of the most challenging fields, and as a tutor who has raised my students’ letter grades, the real difference maker is this: someone who can meet them exactly where they are and patiently make the hardest subject feel intuitive.

Teachers have the impossible task of getting everybody up to speed at the same time with often just one style. But students learn differently. For those who feel left behind, or even those who are ahead and want more, I tailor my lessons to how you think and visualize. Whether it's primary school arithmetic or college thermodynamics, I'll help you connect the dots and master what once felt confusing.

Perfect! In a one hour lesson, Ivan taught my son techniques to help him with his multiplication tables. By the end of the lesson, he was getting through them quickly. Ivan was kind and patient and gave my son a boost of confidence to look at math a different way!
