About Alessandro

I am currently a Master physics graduate student at San Francisco State University,
and have been tutoring (and truly enjoying it) in Math (elementary math, Prealgebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, Calculus),
Physics,
preparing for SAT, ACT, SSAT tests,
helping with general kid’s homework,
Italian (lived in Italy 23 years)
privately for more than 10 years students whose age was ranging from 5 years old to 65 years old (middle, elementary and high school students, adults) with excellent feedbacks (students have always been happy and satisfied with me), and great outcomes in the topics understanding and exam grades.

I also hold a Bachelor and master in Psychology (cognitive neuroscience program) in 2010.
I did 5 years of internships in many different top level labs in USA (last one at Stanford university) as research assistant (using EEG, fMRI,TMS), was a successful Phd candidate in neuroscience at (but refused the Phd offer since I wanted to shift career to astrophysics)
and coauthor of some publications in cognitive neuroscience.

In 2012 I also finished a Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Credential Course.

I am usually available every day from 10am to 9pm, open also to online and group tutoring.

About the lesson

I have very effective teaching methods that I personalize adapting to every student’s specific situation and since am very passionate about teaching I know very well the topics and am able to explain them very clearly, step by step, allowing the student a deep, strong comprehension of the material.
I am extremely patient with an easy going, accommodating personality, and explain concepts as many times are necessary for the student to grasp the material, I really make sure that the student makes a progress and masters the subject.
I usually start the session with an explanation of the concepts, then wait that the student reached the concept and re-illustrate it back to me, then I assign the student some exercises chosen by me or do together some exercises chosen by the students from the book or various websites going together through the challenging points until the student is able to proceed by himself through the homework.
