About Jeffrey

I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Caltech, a master's degree, and a PhD in Pure Mathematics. I have been tutoring online for about 4 years, and prior to that I worked as a tutor for a blind graduate student. Before that I got some classroom experience in, and much before that I tutored in a university math tutoring center.

About the lesson

I have a mathematics, not an education background but several people have called me a gifted teacher. My students appreciate my clarity of explanation and that if they cannot understand my explanation I try again with an explanation more suitable for them.

I teach math for university and graduate level math classes. I'm also willing to take on adult learners trying to advance their math skills independently.

I am good at reducing complicated math to the basics for purposes of learning and teaching.

Excellent! I spoke with Jeffrey for about an hour about some math topics, but there were some technical difficulties so we could not share the white board. Jeffrey was friendly, pleasant, and on time for the appointment.

Richard is very friendly and has a good idea of what he wants out of tutoring. I didn't get a chance to actually do much math in the session due to technology issues, but I look forward to teaching Richard math and learning more at the same time :-)
