About Madison
My interest in teaching maths began with the satisfaction I felt when turning complicated ideas into clear, manageable steps for others. This passion motivated me to complete an M.Ed in Mathematical Studies, where I focused on effective teaching methods for a wide range of learners. Over the past 11 years, I’ve guided students through elementary school maths, middle school maths, algebra, geometry, and SAT maths, always emphasizing clarity, understanding, and encouragement. I am a patient educator who believes that confidence is built through positive reinforcement and careful explanation. Many students come to me feeling anxious about maths, but through supportive instruction, they begin to see patterns, understand processes, and trust their ability to reason through challenges. My teaching style centres on calm guidance and multiple problem-solving pathways so learning never feels rigid or overwhelming. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring educational research, solving mathematical puzzles, and creating practice materials that help students improve at a comfortable pace. I find great joy in seeing learners grow from hesitant to capable, especially when they realise they can master topics such as algebra, geometry, and SAT maths with the right kind of support.

Mathematics becomes much easier when students learn to see it as a logical system rather than a collection of disconnected rules. In my lessons, I teach elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths in a calm, step-by-step approach that helps students understand why each concept works. I make sure learners feel supported, relaxed, and confident, even when facing topics that previously felt intimidating. Each lesson is tailored to a student’s comfort level. Beginners practice foundational number sense, arithmetic fluency, pattern recognition, and early algebraic thinking. Intermediate learners work through algebraic expressions, proportional reasoning, geometric interpretation, multi-step processes, and word-problem strategies. Advanced students focus on SAT maths structure, time-management skills, equation-solving efficiency, and deep conceptual reasoning. Every concept builds upon the last so that students feel genuine growth as they progress. Beyond academics, maths lessons help students strengthen logical reasoning, independence, and persistence. As learners begin to understand algebra, geometry, and SAT maths techniques more clearly, they develop a sense of control over subjects they once found overwhelming. My goal is to help every student achieve comfort and confidence with mathematical thinking so problem-solving feels less stressful and more empowering.
