About Sophia
I am a college student studying Math Education, which essentially means that I have decided to spend my life trying to help other students to learn and appreciate math. Because I am a student, I feel that I can understand many of the struggles that people trying to make it through their education go through. However, I also believe that math is such an important subject to learn, especially today, that persevering through these struggles is ultimately worth the effort. Overall, I have helped many students to overcome the obstacles that made it harder for them to understand math and achieve their goals, and I hope that I have the opportunity to do the same for many more!

I am in my second to last semester of enrollment in the Mathematics Education Program at the University of Georgia. I have had consistent experience with one-on-one tutoring and whole-class instruction in my college career, and I have gained a thorough knowledge of how to effectively use pedagogy to bolster student learning. In general, I believe that ensuring that my students are engaged in the math that they are doing is one of the most important things that I can do to make sure that they are learning, and remembering what they have learned. Accordingly, I try to get to know my students so that I can cater my teaching to their interests. I have taught (and am willing to teach,) both middle and high school students who need support in learning pre-algebra, Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus or Calculus.
