About Lydia
With a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Education from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D in Math Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, I have always known that I wanted to teach math. I am now in my 10th year of teaching mathematics at the college level and I love my job! I have taught classes ranging from remedial mathematics through the Calculus sequence.

Every student is different and has different learning styles. The first time I meet with a student will be more about gaining trust and learning about the student than about teaching content. It is critical that my students trust that I want the best for them and will do anything in my power to help them succeed. Only then will I be able to get through the walls that my students often build against math and lead them on the path to confidence and success in mathematics.
