About Alicia
Hello, I'm Alicia! I have been tutoring for the last 8 years where I have helped both college and high school students with math, introductory engineering, and physics courses. I have a bachelor’s degree in Math Education with a minor in Physics Education, and I studied Engineering for 3.5 years before switching to Education. After graduating, I worked as a high school math teacher for several years and loved watching students grow in confidence and enthusiasm for hard subjects. I love working with students one-on-one, especially people who don’t consider math/science to be their best subject. I get a thrill out of working together to find a way to understand a concept that works best for the student.

As a tutor, I strive to meet students where they are and help them grow in confidence and understanding. As strange as it may say, one of my favorite parts of tutoring is when a student doesn't understand a concept the first time I explain it. The problem solving part of my brain kicks in, and I love working with the student to find a way to explain a concept that clicks with them.
