About Mackenzie
I bring both strong academic ability and a genuine passion for math to my tutoring. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and patient with every student I work with. My goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to build their confidence and independence in problem-solving. I focus on making math understandable, not just memorized. My teaching method is based on breaking down complex concepts into simple, logical steps and making sure students truly understand the “why” behind each problem. I adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style, whether that means using visuals, real-world examples, or step-by-step walkthroughs. I also encourage students to ask questions freely and build confidence through practice and positive reinforcement.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what the student is currently learning or struggling with. From there, I review key concepts, work through example problems together, and then guide the student as they try similar problems on their own. I like to end sessions with a quick recap and tips for approaching similar questions in the future, so students leave feeling more confident and prepared.
What sets me apart is that I’m a current high school student who has recently taken AP Calculus BC, so I understand exactly what students are going through right now. I explain concepts in a way that feels relatable and clear, not overly complicated. I also genuinely love math, and that enthusiasm helps make lessons more engaging and less stressful.
My lessons are best suited for middle school and high school students, including those taking algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus AB/BC. I can help with homework, test preparation, or strengthening foundational skills, whether a student needs extra support or wants to get ahead.
