About Kaylee

I am a certified mathematics educator with over 10 years of tutoring experience and 4 years of classroom teaching, supporting students from middle school through college-level calculus. I have taught a wide range of courses, including Algebra I and II, Honors and AP-level mathematics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in clarity, patience, and personalization. I believe every student can succeed in math when instruction is tailored to their learning style and individual needs. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence—helping students move beyond memorization to meaningful learning.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
My tutoring approach is student-centered and adaptive. I focus on understanding how each student learns and tailor instruction to their learning style, strengths, and needs. I use clear explanations, visual models, guided practice, real-world examples, and questioning strategies to promote deep understanding—not memorization. I emphasize reasoning, patterns, and connections to help students build lasting math foundations.

A Typical Lesson:
Each session begins with a brief check-in to identify goals, questions, or areas of confusion. I review prior knowledge, introduce or reinforce concepts using multiple strategies, and guide students through practice problems with gradual release. Lessons end with reflection, strategy review, and next steps so students leave feeling confident and prepared.

With 10 years of tutoring experience and 4 years as a classroom math teacher, I bring both individualized attention and a strong understanding of curriculum standards and expectations. I specialize in making math accessible, building confidence, and helping students develop problem-solving skills they can apply independently.
