About Jenna

I've been tutoring since I was in high school and continued into college. I've taught algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus. The problem that I see with most of my students is that their classroom teacher only explains a problem/theory/equation in one way. This one way does not necessarily resonate with all students, so I particularly enjoy working with the student in a way that he or she is able to understand problems/theories/equations. In other words, I try to be the tool for the student's understanding of a topic.

About the lesson

I am a college graduate with a degree in math, a degree in philosophy, and a minor in music. I like to work with my students to find something they're interested in, so he or she can learn the basics within an interesting topic. I'm very analytical and am able to teach in multiple ways from multiple perspectives-whatever suits the individual student. With my degrees, I'm able to tutor in almost any math topic: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus (I, II, III, IV/singular variable, multiple variable), linear algebra, and logic (symbolic logic or basic computer programming).

Details

I have a base-rate of $30 with a travel fee of $5 (if my travel is more than 10 minutes), so in total, I charge $35 for a 1-hour session. If the student would like to do a 2-hour session, my rate is $55 with no travel fee.
