About Tori
Hey there! My name is Tori, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in History, and a Master's Degree in Teaching, both of which are from Marshall University. I also have a Juris Doctorate Degree from Southern University Law Center. I taught high school history (grades 9-12) at the private school level in various subjects such as: Civics, US History, AP US History, AP European History, and Arts and Humanities. I currently teach at the elementary level where I teach math, reading, and art. During the school year, I also tutor students in our school's after-school program where I mainly teach/tutor multiplication skills, long division, and math games! I would love to help you in any way that I can!

I teach by implementing the scaffolding method of teaching.
First I instruct my students on the specific topic they are having difficulties with. Then I show my students how they should approach/answer that specific topic. Next, I show my students model answers and how those model answers stand out from others and how my students should make their answers stand out from others. Then, I allow students time to orchestrate and construct their own understanding/answers to recall to me that they know and understand the topic they are struggling with.
What sets me apart as a tutor, is that I strive to make the lessons as simple and straightforward as possible, and communicate with the students in the most clear, concise manner that makes learning easy. I make learning fun!
